I am so excited to share this news with you – my new collection of Rose Crystal
Glassware has just been launched! I have had so much positive feedback, and customers
are absolutely loving the designs.
After the wonderful success of my high tea collections, I have received repeated requests
over the years to bring out a complimentary glassware range. So, over the last year, I
have been busy designing and developing my first range of crystal glassware. Which of
course had to incorporate my signature colours, pink and gold.
All of my glassware is handmade. There is such an elaborate process and art to how it’s
done. Firstly, the glass is handblown in the traditional style. My earliest memories of
seeing glass blowing dates back to when I was a teenager, walking through the streets of
Murano, one of the picturesque islands off Venice. I remember watching the artisans
along the streets creating these magnificent objects out of liquified glass. The way they
handled the fiery hot molten glass was a true art, which they say takes many years to
perfect. This new Cristina Re collection is done in the same style, that’s why each
glassware piece is individual, and the height/thickness of each piece can vary slightly.
This gives the collection beautiful character. When I see the pieces, it takes me back to
the images of the Venetian artisans creating their gorgeous works of art and how much
love went into each piece!
Each crystal glass is trimmed with hand painted 24 carat gold, to give the extra luxurious
feel. Another art in itself, which involves carefully dipping the brush in gold, and
twirling around the rim with a steady hand.
I have designed both Coupe and Tumbler style glasses, paying homage to the classic
vintage glamour. Just think Great Gatsby, entertain in style!
I hope you enjoy these gorgeous pieces as much as I do! Stay tuned for more glassware
styles in the making.
Love Cristina xx
