Spring Ceremonials

September 19, 2016

Every season has its own unique style when it comes to weddings, and springtime certainly doesn’t disappoint.
The favourable, temperate weather – and possibly the bountiful symbology – makes spring the most popular season for weddings in Australia and we always feel a flurry of excitement knowing so many around us will be declaring their everlasting love in the coming months.

This spring, we feel especially enthusiastic as it is our company’s 20th anniversary! Can you believe we have been papercrafting and designing for two whole decades?
That’s a lot of paper cuts! (Seriously – it’s a major hazard of the industry!)

So this year, for all the spring and summer brides, we fearlessly braved a few more stinging fingertips and designed a sparkling new collection of DIY paper and accessories called ‘Heaven and Earth’. 2016/2017 trends see lots of metallics, marble, crystals and geometric shapes throughout weddings. We’ve made sure to bring lots of all these to the bridal table.

Wedding cakes reflect these trends, with leading bakers showing off their latest cake creations to sport either marbled fondant, metallic foil features or delicious natural textures. And naturally, a healthy amount of spring foliage – a must for the season!

When it comes to invitations or thank yous, let’s be honest: we’re all aiming for something outstanding that people will treasure and ideally keep on the mantle for months. We have gold-foiled, laser-cut, die-cut and embossed to the high heavens to ensure you are armed with the very finest paper designs to make this dream a reality. And please send photos of your invitations in (or Instagram them) because we love, love, love to see what you can create!

When it comes to couture and spring fashion, designers such as Marchesa, Naeem Khaan and J. Mendel have released very beautiful yet modest designs, in that they tend to cover a lot of the body. Of course, if you want a strapless gown, you could easily find one, but leading designers have shown us that when it comes to showing skin this spring, less is definitely more.

Wishing all spring brides joy in your wedding preparations, a beautiful day on your wedding, and a happily ever after in married bliss.
