An illustrative Journey – Creating Magic Part 1

February 16, 2016

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been passionate about drawing and illustrating, spending many days and hours entertaining myself with such activities. To me, producing something magical and beautiful through certain art forms – namely inks, watercolour pencils and chalk has always had a cathartic effect on me. Having a creative outlet like this has always been a way for me to relax and let my creativity unleash.

Over the years, my illustration techniques are constantly changing and being refined. In the early days of DIY stationery my illustrations were more focused on flora and fauna (as seen in my classic A4 luxury papers). My office and home are filled with my work, including fashion illustrations, animals, landscapes and portraits.

In more recent years, the Peacock and Butterly Garden ranges in my teaware and stationery have ignighted my love for watercolour. Illustration has also played a part through many of my licensing designs for Target & Spotlight, my bath and body range aswell as the hand illustrated journals we sell online.

A couple of years ago, I collaborated with leading Astrologer Stella Woods, and designed a pack of affirmation cards – all hand illustrated by me! I’ve always been into astrology and I felt this was an important extension for the brand. I love to create things that are aesthetically beautiful but make you feel good too.
